I do stuff

Scott brought Ryan and Izzy up on Sunday.
(They all needed something different to do!)
Beth and Lucas put their speedboat on the lake and we all went for a ride.
Then some of us went for a swim!
(Not me)

Scott and Izzy pool noodle fun!

Lucas (with the hat), Scott and Izzy, and in front Ryan and Ethan.
a good time was had by all!
Then we moved the party to my house for dinner-
a summer menu of Fried Chicken, potato salad and watermelon.
Yummy, but more important was the time spent with family.

Last week, I had some more holes added to my ears!
I've been thinking about it for quite a while and finally did it.
I must say it was far less painful this time around than it was when I put the first ones in using ice cubes to numb and a needle.  (That was back in 1968, my first semester of college.  My Mom wouldn't allow me to do it at home, so in typical college girl rebellion I just did it at Baylor.)

This morning was cool enough that I went for a long walk.  Alone as Quinn has arthritis in her ankles and no longer wants to take walks, long or short.
While I was sweaty I went out and pulled some weeds and checked on the garden.
When I pulled back the radishes I found these cuties!
Three little ones, no bigger than the palm of my hand.
Too bad they grown up and eat my veggies!

  1. LOL My friend pierced my ears in a very similar way, except we used a nappy pin. LOL

  2. Ha Ha--my ears were pierced by my best friend's older sister, using a needle bathed in alcohol, and ice cubes for the numbing. She also used a piece of raw potato behind my ear to push the needle into as it came through. It was about 1972 for me.
