Trying to be social and a quilt show.

The Good Doctor actually ordered me to get out of the house and be more social!
I am working on it!
I decided that if my automatic response was I'd rather stay home then I had to go.

I had noticed on Friday that the Lee's Summit quilters guild was having their annual quilt show so that was a perfect opportunity for me to do something that's a little difficult for me at the moment. I mean, inside with many people!  Saturday, I got up, dressed more carefully than sweatpants, put on makeup and drove up to the church where the event is held.
Here's are some photos!

Hearts and Tulips
Hand appliqué and quilting by Sue Martindale
I think my breath stopped at this one!

This one is for Chooky and the rest of the Churn Dash Stitch along group-Blogger refuses to put this photo where I want it!

Churndash Legends by Cathy Wight
Design by Wendy Sheppard for Windham Fabrics

Aurora by Sheryl Murray (a design by Jacquelin de Jonge and thus a sister to my Chasing Dreams.)

Missouri Bluebird by Lynn Sievers
Original design

Birds of a Feather by Vickie Gordon

Log Cabin Beads by Cathy Wight
Quilt Sampler Spring/Summer 2014

Coronavirus by Klonda Holt
Pattern:  Moon Dance-Sew Kind of Wonderful

Whew, loading photos today seems to be quite a challenge!

The guild also had some vendors and some things for sale donated by members.  I didn't come home with any fabric BUT I did acquire some new books!
I DO NOT need anymore patterns etc. . .BUT at $3.00 each I couldn't pass these up!
The Milleflore is written in both French and English-good practice for my very rusty French!  The Miniature book is because I have enough bed quilts so I'll give these a try.

This week my adventures in getting out will be to the Nelson-Adkins Art Gallery!

  2. Good job going to the quilt show. There were some lovely quilts. My guild also had a quilt show lately and I sort of regret skipping it. There is still too much covid around.

  6. Beautiful quilts. So nice to see. You will have fun with those books, even if it just browsing through them, at that price.

  7. Good for you to get out even if it is doctor ordered. It is hard to make ourselves to that sometimes.
