Heading into Autumn

Not quite this far!
The weather has taken a really nice turn and it seems we might have left the 90'sF (32C-37C) for this year!  Hurray, Hurrah, Huzzah! This week has been in the 80's F and next week will be in the 70'sF but even better has been nighttime temperatures in the 50'sF!  It's chilly enough that I am waiting for it to warm up a bit to work in the gardens-well I could but on long pants but it will warm up later!
Other signs of Fall--the shadow of the house on the back yard gets deeper every day, the sun rises behind my neighbor's tree on it's way south, soon it will rise behind his house!
This is my absolute favorite time of the year!
I was lucky this year I got to have autumn twice!  Once, in Australia and once here!
Cool enough for jeans and a sweater but not cold yet.
Cool enough to eat outside without being eaten alive by mosquitoes or annoyed by flies!
Cool enough to burn the limbs that have fallen all summer.
Guess what?  I'm spending much more time out of doors than I have been!
(And enjoying every minute!)

In other things, my house cleaning is going well.  The wonder of it is that it is staying clean! I have never been a great housekeeper as I'd much rather do something else, anything else-I mean who wouldn't?  This time though I am taking great pleasure in having a clean house, I mean even the kitchen floor feels clean!  Only my Studio-- and the rest of the basement-- and the garage are left inside!  The yard needs some more work but hey, it's nice outside.
Once this is done then more crafty-stitching things will happen.
Right now though, I'm smiling every day!

  1. Sounds like a great time to be outside. I prefer other things to cleaning too!

  2. Nice to know you are in a happy place Gail. 'Indian summer' here so hot and muggy this week but our first taste of summer since June so we shouldn't complain. Sitting outside for breakfast is on again so am making the most of it and trying not to look at the windows which could do with a clean but..... xx
